Vikings Multi Event  Feb 10th until march 10th

                                                     HOW DOES IT WORK?

The theme for the month March 2025 is Vikings.

Entry starts from Feb 10th till March 10th. So you have a entire month to think, take and edit your picture :)

Take a picture of a Viking theme. This could be a landscape, profile picture, Scenery...whatever you have in mind.

You can submit your self-made photos taken in SL before March 10th in full permissions.

You are free to photograph whatever you like, as long as the photos are taken in Second Life and the Viking theme is respected.

Once your photo is ready, send it to one of our team members with full permissions, and it will be placed in one of our frames displayed in the metro and lounge.

Only ONE photo per participant is allowed!

The final entry will be March 10th !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Until the 10th of March, small adjustments to your submitted photo can be made.

Contact the staff if you are not satisfied with the measurement of your picture.

All participants will be invited in time to the grand opening on Sat March 15 at 11 AM slt

It is wise to join the group Monocle Man so you don't miss a thing.

Only on that day will voting begin, and you can only vote on other participants if you are a participant yourself.

You can find the ballot in the metro, which you will submit in the large red mailbox after filling it out.

DON'T FORGET TO ADD YOUR OWN NAME ON THE NOTECARD !!!!!!!!

Any incorrectly or poorly filled-in ballots will be destroyed and will not count, of course.

You will have plenty of time to vote after the opening. The ballot box will remain open for about a week after the opening.

It is therefore not possible to invite alts or friends to vote for you, and you are also not allowed to vote for yourself. This way, Monocle Man aims to promote the fairest voting system.

We do not allow any AI-generated photos. However, filters and editors are permitted to enhance your photo.

As usual, the winners will receive the Exclusive Monocle Man trophy from Kit, a interview for the blog from Willow, and not to forget, the eternal glory on our wall of fame :)

On the grand opening The 15 end of March, voting will be allowed and we will have a big Ragnarok viking party in the lounge with DJ Willow playing amazing Viking music.

The winners will be announced on March 22 end

We hope you will join us again for this amazing event at Monocle Man

Good luck

MONOCLE MAN GALLERY Artist Of the Month is Tɦamaຮ HJȼrtȼ

Second Life Photographer | Storyteller Through Images

My journey into Second Life photography began in 2017 when I met an incredible Aussie friend who was not only a talented blogger and an amazing photographer. Her passion for the craft inspired me to pick up my own virtual camera, and from that moment, I was hooked. What started as simple curiosity quickly turned into a deep appreciation for the creative freedom that Second Life offers.

For me, photography is more than just taking snapshots—it's about telling a story. I want my images to evoke emotion, create intrigue, and capture a moment that feels real, even in a virtual world. While I don’t always achieve exactly what I envision, I embrace the challenge. The process of experimenting, learning, and improving keeps me motivated, and I love pushing my creativity with every new image.

One of the unique aspects of my work is that I often create my own poses. This allows me to control the body language and mood of my subjects, making sure each pose contributes to the overall story of the image. Whether it’s a tender embrace, a dramatic stance, or a casual moment of reflection, I enjoy the freedom of crafting poses that feel natural and expressive.

Lighting is another essential element in my work. While I tend to gravitate toward dim, moody lighting that adds depth and atmosphere, I don’t limit myself to one particular style. Sometimes a scene calls for brightness and vibrancy, while other times, soft shadows and low light create a more intimate, cinematic feel. It all depends on the story I want to tell in that moment.

What I love most about Second Life photography is the limitless potential for creativity. Unlike real-world photography, where you are bound by physical limitations, Second Life allows you to build entire worlds, manipulate lighting and angles to perfection, and create visuals that would be impossible anywhere else. That level of artistic control excites me, and I’m always looking for new ways to refine my craft.

Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to meet many talented photographers, and artists who have inspired and helped me grow. To name a few, Kali. Misty, Poppy, Amelia Dani and Money.  Every interaction, every bit of feedback, and every collaboration has played a role in shaping my style, and I’m truly grateful for the friendships and creative connections I’ve made.

Rather than simply telling you what kind of photographer I am, I invite you to look at my work at my tiny gallery at the Monocal man's sim. Each image is a piece of my journey, my passion, and my creative exploration. If my photos make you feel something—whether it’s nostalgia, curiosity, or connection—then I know I’ve done my job.

write some words in my guest book if you feel like it, and thank you for taking the time to see the world through my lens.
